Drug addicts in Leigh have been urged to seek out rehab clinics following a drugs raid that has taken £1 million-worth of goods off the streets.
The Leigh Journal reports that addiction recovery services are urging people who have drug addictions to seek out services following the raid, pointing out that the drugs are likely to be in short supply in the area in the near future.
That could result in many people suffering withdrawal symptoms and the Wigan and Leigh Drug and Alcohol Service has suggested this could offer the perfect opportunity for someone with a problem to tackle their addiction and seek out recovery services.
"If there is anyone out there who is having difficulty dealing with their habit as a result of this drugs seizure we would urge them to make contact with local drug services and find out what help is available," said Pat Keane, Wigan council's drug and alcohol business manager.
"This now provides addicts with a great opportunity to seek treatment for their addiction," the expert told the newspaper.
rehab centres can provide people suffering from a drug addiction with an opportunity to break out of their normal routine, giving them the chance to get away from the temptations and habits that can often result in returning to addiction.
