Not all alcohol rehab programs suit every person due to the variable nature of the condition, an addiction centre asserts.
While Sunset Malibu claims all versions of the disease can be treated, it says the methods vary from person to person.
"Alcohol rehab programs are different in every center. They may contain similar solutions and aims, but how the procedures are performed vary," it states.
Commenting on the high occurrence rates of alcohol addiction, it says the fact it is not a communicable disease does not reduce the harm it can cause.
Describing the condition as a "silent attacker", the center says substance abuse of this sort has ruined millions of lives across the world.
The rehab clinic emphasises the fact procedures vary from advanced and well-equipped facilities to more traditional centers, which often use the twelve-step system popularized by Alcoholics Anonymous.
In other news, a recent study by the Harvard Medical School suggested alcohol addiction treatment clinics offer the best chance of overcoming dependency.
The Overcoming Addiction: Paths Towards Recovery report also advised those seeking help to change their environment, by removing items with associations to their condition and learning new skills to prevent relapse.
