Movie star Jamie Lee Curtis has recently admitted to having a drug addiction to painkillers, according to reports.
Writing in the Huffington Post, the star of the Halloween films spoke about her drug rehab and empathy with Michael Jackson, who died recently from an alleged drug overdose.
A child star like Jackson, Curtis claimed that she used drugs to escape "painful reality", but that she was lucky in being able to overcome the drug addiction that she had suffered from.
Ms Curtis wrote that help, from addiction clinics and drug addiction centres, is available to people who are also addicted.
She said: "My recovery from drug addiction is the single greatest accomplishment of my life... but it takes work - hard, painful work - but the help is there."
Commenting on the recent donations to Jackson's children, Curtis called for a diversion of the funds to drug rehab, as well as treatment and prevention measures.
Doctor to the king of pop Arnie Klein recently claimed on Larry King's CNN show that Jackson once had a drug addiction and that he has once given the star a strong sedative, the Mirror reports.
