The topic of cocaine addiction and dependency on other drugs has been tackled by an MTV documentary.
A one-hour TV series has been developed and hosted by recovering addict and DJ Adam Goldstein to debate whether a person can recover from severe substance abuse.
Gone Too Far will debut in the US on Monday October 5th and over the course of eight episodes follow the lives of young adults between 18 and 25 years old who are battling addiction.
The show aims to highlight the devastation cocaine addiction and dependency on other substances can bring to users' lives.
"substance abuse is an issue that our audience consistently struggles with and through his own battle with addiction, DJ AM knows first-hand the innate chaos drug dependency can inflict on addicts and their loved ones," said Tony DiSanto, president of programming for MTV.
He called the DJ an "inspiration" to young people fearing it is too late to kick their drug habit.
Former cocaine addict Craig Tuner took the drug for a decade before beating his addiction.
He told NHS Direct that during this period his drug habit ruined his four-year relationship and nearly claimed his career as a fashion designer.
