A Scottish man who successfully received drug addiction support is offering help to others looking to break their substance abuse habit.
Rob Evison, who is based in Flint, said he wanted to help others after suffering from heroin addiction for five years, the Leader reports.
Now, the 31-year-old father-of-three is taking addicts on outdoor activities, in addition to offering them support and friendship, in an attempt to boost their recovery.
Having set up the Recycle Your Life initiative, he hopes to get involved in further activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
He told the newspaper that he had been addicted to heroin between the ages of 16 and 21 but thereafter managed to change his "life around".
"Taking drugs is not a life," he warned.
"It is being on your own and shutting things out. I did everything myself. I decided myself to stop using the drugs. When I gave it up there was not the help that is available now."
Elsewhere, The Oxford Times reports that ex drug addict Steve Walker has been honoured by the Centre for Social Justice after 30 years of charity work.
