A former drug addict from south Wales has been speaking about how he managed to get addiction treatment for his problem and turn his life around, eventually becoming a priest.
The remarkable story of Richard Taylor from Llanelli saw the teenage tearaway suffering from a string of drug and alcohol addictions.
He was in and out of prison as he stole to feed his addiction, but after picking up a Bible during one stay in Swansea jail, his life was never the same again.
Speaking to Wales on Sunday, Mr Taylor explained: "[I'd] never read the Bible before, but I was captivated and that night I slept like a baby."
He continued: "When I woke it was like something had changed, I felt calm and peaceful."
It was the start of a long road to recovery for Mr Taylor but with the help of Christian drug rehab clinic Victory Outreach UK and its addiction treatment programmes, he eventually kicked his habit and slowly began a journey to become a priest.
Many drug clinics provide addiction services that are tailored to the individual needs of a patient, so they are able to get the treatment that is most effective for them.
