More than a third of kids stated that cocaine was the drug they knew about most. Cannabis was just under a third.
Half of the kids in the survey named several other drugs that were illegal.
The survey also asked the kids of their thought about the laws of drug taking. One out of five kids thought heroin was legal. Over a quarter thought ecstasy was legal. Over a third thought that adults just take drugs to be "cool". One out of thirty three kids thought adults chose not to do drugs because it was actually addictive and dangerous.
This survey was carried out to obtain information and understanding of the thinking behind children and drug behaviour. As a result of the survey, a lot of teaching on the horror of addiction and drug taking needs to be portrayed into kids minds.
Work needs to be carried out in schools early, to approach kids at clever angle that will consequently decrease the numbers of future generations taking drugs.
