A drug rehab center in Connecticut is offering patients an unusual way of getting rid of their addictions, by embracing the outdoors lifestyle.

A Connecticut drug rehab center is helping its patients overcome their problems by using the great outdoors as part of their addiction treatment programme.

The Mountainside Treatment Center describes itself as "one of the most innovative and affordable treatment programs ever", by incorporating the beautiful scenery of the local area to help patients get away from the stresses and strains of their normal lives.

By taking patients on mountainside walks and climbs, the addiction treatment programme helps to provide them with an adrenalin rush to replace the excitement of the drugs.

"Understanding the importance that an environment plays in a person’s addiction, the founders of Mountainside set off to find a natural, peaceful and rural setting for their center," the clinic explains.

However, the programme also involves some intense therapy and ensures that addiction treatment plans are tailored to meet the needs of each individual.
