A rehab clinic in the US is undertaking a new addiction treatment that is designed to cut the number of people suffering from opiate drug addictions.
SouthCoast Recovery, one of the top drug rehab centers in California, has developed a specific programme designed to help people suffering from opiate addictions, after seeing the number of people checking in with such problems increase in recent years.
The clinic uses a wide variety of treatments to help tackle opiate addiction, including the most "cutting edge" detox methods designed to help people with addiction problems recover more effectively.
However, like many centers around the world, the SouthCoast recovery clinic focuses on the individual needs of the patient and is clear that tackling a drug addiction should not be taken in isolation to other underlying factors.
"opiate addiction can also be symptomatic of underlying issues that need to be addressed on an individual basis, such as dual diagnoses like depression and anxiety," the organisation explained.
Many addiction treatment centers currently offer tailored treatment programmes to patients that focus on the needs of the individual, rather than simply providing a one-size-fits-all approach.
Some offer 'buddy' schemes, whereby patients are given a mentor to confide in and help them through their battle with addiction.
