A drug rehab clinic in California has highlighted the importance of friends and family in tackling a drug addiction, through the potential of an intervention.

A Californian rehab clinic has pointed out the important role that friends and family can play in helping a person beat their addiction problems.

The Cliffside Malibu rehabilitation center has announced a renewed commitment to helping people with drug addictions beat their problems and as part of this the rehab clinic has highlighted the importance of friends or family staging an intervention.

Offering greater advice to friends and family on how to stage a drug addiction intervention, the rehab center is seeking to encourage more people to tackle the problem of addiction through taking time out in an addiction recovery center.

Furthermore, Cliffside Malibu has announced it is expanding its mission, with a new goal of "delivering the most ennobling care on the planet to those individuals who need it".

"Our clients invariably come to us with a range of emotional issues," said Cliffside Malibu's program director.

"It's our job to help them resolve those issues, with everything from depression treatment to life-skills education," he added.

Most rehab clinics today recognise the importance of delivering a tailored addiction treatment programme designed around the specific needs of the individual patient, rather than attempting to employ a one-size-fits-all approach.
