A recently-launched drug rehab center in Prosperity, West Virginia, has been developing a program aimed at helping men beat their addiction problems.
The Beckley Register Herald reports that Brian's Safehouse did not come about as the owners had anticipated, but the results have so far been encouraging.
"It took a while to learn how the program would pan out, but today there is a lot of harmony in the house," admits co-founder Donita Brush.
The rehab center took in its first resident just under a year ago and has since gone from strength to strength in putting together addiction treatment programs for local men with drug addiction problems.
However, the founders admit that the scheme has not always been plain sailing and much work had to be put in to ensure that the rehab center was providing the right addiction treatment for its patients.
"Once you bring residents in and understand their life struggles, you build a program around them," explains co-founder Leon Brush.
Many rehab centers offer tailored treatment programs to help individuals tackle their addiction problems.
It is now seen as a far better solution to a one-size-fits-all scheme that does not take account of the personal needs of the patient.
