A rehabilitation clinic in Thailand is offering a unique cognitive-behavioural therapy designed to help patients overcome alcohol and drug addiction problems.
Channah Thailand's programme lasts for 28 days and is designed to tackle both the way attendees think and behave.
It conducts the sessions in both one-on-one and group formats, blending treatment with physical fitness and relaxation exercises.
Each week, there is an additional course on relapse prevention to ensure patients who have completed the course avoid falling back into drug or alcohol addiction.
Designed for English-speaking clients, it is situated two hours away from Bangkok and describes itself as "like none other in the world".
It states: "Numerous studies have found that the costs relating to productivity lost due to illness, absenteeism and poorer performance, is in the hundreds of millions of dollars."
The course is individually tailored and is designed after the patient undergoes a thorough physical and medical exam.
According to US treatment clinic Malibu Drug and Alcohol Rehab, in order for detox programmes to be effective they need to teach attendees about themselves.
The facility also emphasises the importance of finding a course based in tranquil, secluded surroundings.
