A bishop based in Hackney, east London, has released a CD to encourage young people to turn their backs on drug abuse and dealing in the area, it has been reported.
Church leader Wayne Malcolm, who heads the Christian Life City, said the music - which centres around a previous sermon of his - has been received well so far, suggesting it may be starting to have the desired affect, according to the Voice Online.
He expressed he would like the album to inspire conversations about drug addiction and motivate those who are trying to kick the habit to see it through.
Bishop Malcolm told the news provider: "Everyone who's heard it has said it is one of the most powerful anti-drug tools they have heard and that it is a real eye opener."
The CD will be distributed to youth groups working on addressing the problem in the community.
Subjects on the record include the way drugs affect mood and behaviour, how mental health may be damaged by substances and the way in which dealers operate to spur on a drug addiction.
Earlier this month, the Times said drug abuse in children under the age of 15 is a "cause not effect" of social problems.
