According to the Daily Record, use of drug is becoming more common in Scotland, but despite this, many remain unaware of the dangers associated with its use.
And as the Christmas party season approaches, more young people could end up being seduced by the white powder, the paper claims.
Those with high blood pressure or a heart condition can be particularly at risk from using the drug, the paper warns, as it can increase the risk of stroke and heart attack.
As part of an effort to raise awareness about the drug, the government is over Christmas running a new campaign highlighting its risks, the paper reports.
One former addict, Andrew, told the paper that it took months of treatment for him to overcome his addiction to the drug and that complete abstinence was the only way he was able to beat his addiction.
Cocaine is not the only drug that is being tackled by the authorities in Scotland. Aberdeen Council is this week debating whether a specialist clinic that would prescribe diamorphine - a pure form of heroin - should be opened.
