It has been claimed that getting the addiction treatment programme right when dealing with an addict is vital to ensure that the person is able to make a full recovery.

Making sure the drug addiction treatment programme is properly tailored to the needs of an individual is crucial to helping them beat their addiction, it has been suggested.

According to the Sunset Malibu rehab centre in the US, making the right choices about the needs of an individual with a drug addiction and selecting a programme that will fit those requirements is the best way to delivering a treatment that is effective.

However, the rehab clinic warns that the development of the programme and its ultimate success cannot be solely down to the rehab centre itself, but must come in part from the individual.

"If your drug treatment programme is going to work, it’s going to be because you make it work," the rehab clinic suggests.

Meanwhile, the Mountainside Treatment Center in Connecticut is providing a different sort of rehabilitation programme for its patients.

The rehab clinic is using its natural surroundings and an active outdoor programme to help patients overcome their addiction by becoming more in tune with their surroundings and enjoying the hard work of long mountainside walks.
